Safety training is an important part of a superintendent's job. Developing a safety
training program is important because various federal and state agencies have regulations
requiring specific documented training for a variety of activities that may endanger
an employee. This course will provide you with the tools to develop a comprehensive
training program to keep your employees safe while working at the golf course facility.
Sample training presentations covering hazard communication, emergency response,
personal protection, and equipment safety are all included on your CD.
In this course, you will:
- Develop skills for teaching adults through adult education principles.
- Build a safety training program for your staff to include the proper use of golf
course equipment and personal protection equipment, and the proper handling of fuels,
solvents and turfgrass chemicals.
- Learn to protect your staff from injury and to protect you and your facility from
liability issues.
- Learn to protect the investment of your management in the facility and the equipment
and chemicals needed to maintain it.
- Develop the ability to save money as a result of fewer injuries and equipment repairs.
