FMC Professional Solutions has launched a new Web site, www.fmc Tycrop has developed a new mounting system for the Cushman work vehicle. The tow-behind chassis features a low ground compaction and a four-wheel walking beam suspension. Weight distribution is optimized by the hitch mounting position and spread over eight turf tires. The system’s overall length is shorter than the standard tow-behind chassis, the company says, which maximizes maneuverability. The combination of design and materials of the hitch and receiver allow for stable operation when used in normal grade situations. Should the unit enter an unsafe grade, a “crumple zone” allows the hitch/receiver assembly to absorb the turnover energy to keep the vehicle upright. The receiver is mounted directly to the frame rails, with the top existing holes in the frame and two smaller ones in the side. Tycrop’s direct-connect chassis comes with dual jack stands for quick installation and removal. Contact Tycrop, 800-845-7249 (www.tycropturf.com). The new Fisher XLS snowplow from Fisher Engineering allows users to expand and reconfigure the XLS blade into a variety of plowing positions without leaving the vehicle. Possible positions include 8-foot retracted straight-blade, 10-foot expanded width and a scoop width of almost 9 feet. Positioned in the scoop mode, the plow can deliver greater snow-carrying capacity than traditional plows, the company says. The XLS also can perform windrowing because the leading wing can angle forward and corral more snow into the moldboard, nearly eliminating spill-off and using the entire blade width. The snowplow comes standard with the company’s Minute Mount 2 attachments system. A Trip-Edge design allows users to maintain the load when encountering an obstacle. Made by the New Zealand Pump Co., the WeedBall weed eliminator features a plastic hollow handle that serves as a reservoir for herbicide. The WeedBall function at the bottom of the device is a large, ball-shaped sponge that serves as the applicator. Users apply the herbicide by rolling and rotating the WeedBall while walking along turf or targeted weed areas. An adjustable valve controls the flow or amount of herbicide deposited on the sponge. Because the device distributes herbicide directly via the sponge as opposed to the more traditional method of spraying, only the targeted weeds are eliminated, and adjacent valued plants are not exposed to herbicide drift, the company says.
