Chase for the cup
With the Olympics just a few weeks in the rearview mirror, golf gets its shot at international competition when the Ryder Cup comes to Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., this month. Prepping a course for match-play competition presents challenges unique in the world of tournament golf, and GCM will be there to chronicle those challenges on its blog, From the Desk of GCM. Live coverage from Louisville begins Monday, Sept. 15.

Teeing it up
Although registration for both the GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show and 2009 GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic doesn’t technically begin this month — registration for both events opens Wednesday, Oct. 1 — now is the time to begin
examining all the options available to you at both events. In-depth information on conference opportunities in New Orleans can be found at www.gcsaa.org/conference, while www.golfindustryshow.com has all the details about the industry’s largest and most complete trade show. At www.gcsaa.org/conference/tour.asp, you can find everything you’ll need to know about the golf tournament and its host,
Gulf Shores, Ala.
