The new TS-75 commercial-duty push spreader from Turf-Ex, a new product division of TrynEx International, is designed to distribute seed and fertilizer on smaller applications. The manually powered spreader can also spread ice melt for winter maintenance. With a heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant polyethylene hopper that can hold 1.3 cubic feet, the machine is equipped with nylon axle and wheel bearings that self-lubricate for load-carrying performance. Large gears are built with Nylatron GS nylon, while a rugged gear cover comes with quick-release clamps to keep gears protected yet accessible for serviceability. Developed as a cost-effective seeding tool, the BDH-512 double seeder hitch from Brillion Iron Works’ farm equipment division helps save money and time plus creates a more uniform seedbed, the company says. Able to cover twice the amount of ground in the same time, the BDH-512 features a center flex pivot for consistent seeding that adjusts to the ground’s contours. While turning, the hitch adjusts for even planting without cutting corners, the company adds. The tool can work with any combination of 8-foot, 10-foot or 12-foot pull-type seeders. The cloud-to-ground lightning network is critical for advanced prediction of severe weather, the company says. WeatherBug Total Lightning Network uses broadband frequency monitoring on a national scale to detect intracloud lightning. The program also includes enhanced mapping capabilities from its real-time weather visualization tool, StreamerRT, a Web-based platform that enables improved customization and visualization to analyze existing and potential weather conditions. Syngenta’s Heritage G fungicide recently received registration from the EPA for use on turf, including golf courses, sod farms, athletic fields, residential and commercial lawns and others. Featuring the carrier DG-Lite, Heritage G is a systemic strobilurin fungicide in granular form that controls more than 21 diseases during a 28-day window, the company says. Heritage G is said to be effective against brown patch, red thread, pythium, anthracnose, gray leaf spot, snow mold, take-all patch, leaf spot, summer patch and necrotic ring spot. A new material transfer system from Finn Corp. can carry and discharge a variety of materials including soil mixes, mulch, sand, palletized loads and aggregate. Equipped with an electronically controlled hydraulic system, the material transfer system features a reversible main floor conveyor and cross belt, which is exclusive to the system and gives the user the option to unload material from either side of the machine — curbside or roadside. The belt moves material and dumps it directly into the wheelbarrow, saving the operator the time and energy of shoveling. Combined with the wide-opening rear door, the main reversible conveyor floor allows the entire load to be dumped in less than a minute, the company says. Speeds for both the conveyor floor and cross belt are independently adjustable, allowing control over flow rates. The system can fill a wheelbarrow in four seconds, the company adds, while a multipurpose vacuum provides cleanup. Olof’s Travelmaps introduces its safe and natural bird repellers to North America. Made of corrugated plastic, the decoys are built in the shape of a predatory bird such as a hawk or eagle. The largest great eagle model has a 44-inch wingspan and a rotating arm, allowing the bird decoy to fly and appear like a real eagle, the company says. Ideal for golf courses with Canada geese problems, the flying profile of the decoy is achieved through a three-pin hanger to keep the bird in a balanced and stable position even in strong wind, the company says. The latest additions to The Toro Co.’s family of Dingo compact utility loaders are the narrow- and wide-track TX 427 models. Both loaders feature a 27-hp Kohler engine and come standard with a two-stage air cleaner for dust and dirt filtration. Successors to the company’s TX 420 and TX 425 models, the new machines have four independent hydraulic pumps, enabling them to deliver 16.9 gallons per minute of flow to each track, 11.4 gpm to the auxiliary hydraulics and 6 gpm to the loader arm. Auxiliary hydraulics pump 19 hp of flow to the attachment for increased productivity in ground-engaging applications, the company says. Both units are compatible with Toro’s loader attachments for augering, earthmoving, tilling, trenching, lifting, leveling, demolishing and more applications. Haaga Great Lakes LLC is launching its line of eco-friendly Haaga sweeping machines in the North American market. The product line consists of six models of sweepers designed for a variety of applications, including golf courses, lawn and landscaping, greenhouses, parking areas, driveways and walkways. Lightweight with an ergonomic handle and grips, the self-storing sweepers are designed for sweeping without causing back pain to users. The Haaga sweeper can be manually pushed or pulled, while dual action, fully adjustable brushes continuously pick up debris such as wet and dry leaves, rocks, sand, dirt, trash, cigarette butts and more. A variety of sweeping widths are available, while the larger models offer Haaga’s patented Turbo sweeping system, which adds a third center brush for removing fine dust, the company says. With a ¾-inch thread inlet/outlet, the valves are available in either solid brass or composite/stainless steel. A large-diameter ball valve design allows the valves to be adjusted for specific site requirements of small to large volumes of water. New Holland’s new line of finishing mowers includes the 300 series rear-mounted finish mowers and the 400 series flex-wing finish mowers. Featuring specially designed cutter head overlap for close, clean cutting, the mowers include high suction cutter blades for lifting the grass. The 300 series mowers offer Category 1, three-point mounted implements for tractors equipped with 540 rpm power take-off. Fitted with safety chains, the series features cutting widths of 60, 72 and 90 inches. Options include a pneumatic tire kit, a mulching kit and an anti-scalping kit. The 400 series has three floating decks with four wheels on each deck and cutting widths of 12, 15 or 17 inches. Wing decks flex front-to-rear and side-to-side to provide precise and smooth cuts on uneven terrain. The V-200P automatic self-cleaning plastic filter from Valve and Filter comes in 2-inch and 3-inch sizes that offer 20 to 220 gpm, 30 to 150 psi, and filtration from 1,500 to 10 micron. The V-200P, which incorporates the same efficiency and elements of the V-series design, is ideal for automatic filtration applications where suspended solids need to be effectively removed, the company adds. The new Toolcat 5610 from Bobcat Co. features a Category 1, three-point hitch and hydraulic power take- off for rear implements and the ability to run more than 40 front-mounted Bobcat attachments. Power take-off for running implements on the rear of the machine is also available. A hydraulically driven motor powers the 540-rpm PTO to drive such implements as multiple stage mowers for cutting grass, tillers, soil conditioners, sprayers for applying fertilizer, snow blowers and other applications. The PTO requires high-flow auxiliary hydraulics, the company says. Also a compact loader and attachment carrier, the Toolcat 5610 features a front lift arm with a rated operating capacity of 1,300 pounds. With an optional counterweight kit, the machine features a 1,500-pound rated operating capacity. The unit features two rear compartments with a capacity of 50 pounds each. The dispenser eliminates the need to keep bottles of sunscreen that can be misplaced or lost. The company’s sunscreen is oil-free, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, water-resistant and provides both UVA and UVB protection from the sun. The dispenser consists of a bag-in-bottle cartridge with sealed bags of sunscreen welded inside molded PVC to create a disposable and waterproof cartridge. When the cartridge is empty, users can discard of the old one and insert the new. The dispenser can be mounted using two-way tape provided on the back of the unit, by using provided screws for hanging the dispenser, or a combination of the two. Designed to give users the ability to groom turf with consistency, the new Turf Groomer is a continuously running system that users don’t have to turn on or off independently. All adjustments are made from the front of the reel with a single ½-inch wrench, and adjustments are held accurately, returning to the last setting and specified height when lowered into action, the company adds.
