There is a piece of equipment for almost every task imaginable in the practice of golf course management. That doesn’t always mean that the equipment in question was designed for that particular task, however. In this issue of GCM we examine a group of superintendents who have found nontraditional uses for some traditional pieces of equipment, superintendents who, in essence, have built a better mousetrap. Also, we preview the 2010 GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. In fact, this month’s cover photo (courtesy of La Quinta Resort and Club) features one of the host courses for that event, the Norman Course at PGA West.
