GCSAA TV, the online television network designed to educate, enlighten and
entertain superintendents and others in the golf industry, has recently surpassed
250,000 views of its online episodes.
The network, a
partnership between the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA)
and EPIC Creative, started in 2009 and quickly gained popularity throughout the
industry. Those 250,000 videos have been viewed in 145 countries, including 80
in the past month. International viewership accounts for 20 percent of all
videos watched.
“It is
impressive that literally three years from the date GCSAA TV was launched,
250,000 videos have been viewed,” GCSAA Chief Executive Officer Rhett Evans
said. “Obviously the format and information have been well received. That is a
testament to our members and industry partners because they are the subject
matter, and to the quality work done by our partners at EPIC Creative. I am
excited about what the future holds as we continue to expand our online video
offerings.”
To celebrate the
milestone, GCSAA TV awarded GCSAA Superintendent Member James Stow, the 250,000th
episode viewer, a customized Apple iPad pre-loaded with the most popular GCSAA
TV segments. Stow is the superintendent at Ross Rogers Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas.
“My favorite
episodes are the ‘What’s in Your Cart’ and ‘Mythbusters’ episodes,” Stow said. “I’ve
been watching GCSAA TV consistently for the last two years. I get tons out of it, and I really enjoy it. I always like to see
what other superintendents are doing and their practices.”
