Reminder: Media registration open for 2012 Golf Industry Show in Las Vegas

For the first time, the Golf Industry Show visits Las Vegas, with the facility management-focused trade show being conducted at the Las Vegas Convention Center Feb. 29 – March 1.

Media may register using the media registration page in the Newsroom section of the Golf Industry Show website.

This gathering of industry representatives features exhibitions of virtually every aspect associated with the game of golf. Show officials expect more than 6,000 qualified buyers interacting with 500 exhibitors covering 180,000 square feet of exhibit space.

"Like no other event, the Golf Industry Show brings the golf course industry together," said NGCOA Chief Executive Officer Mike Hughes. "Las Vegas is a popular venue for conventions, conferences and trade shows, and we look forward to offering attendees and exhibitors a positive and valuable experience."

The Golf Industry Show is presented by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), along with participating partners the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA), the United States Golf Association (USGA), the National Golf Foundation (NGF), and the International Golf Course Equipment Managers Association (IGCEMA). Last year, the Society of Golf Appraisers (SGA) joined as a supporting partner.

"I applaud the partners for adding value to the show each year,” GCSAA Chief Executive Officer Rhett Evans said. “The education on the show floor in short segments, the infusion of new technology and communications before, during and after the show are some of the latest enhancements that will benefit attendees and exhibitors.”

Among the attractions will be the highly-popular golf analyst and television host David Feherty speaking at the General Session, Thursday, March 1, at 8 a.m.

The Golf Industry Show is designed to benefit every member of the golf facility management team. The 2012 trade show floor will feature:

The latest in technology, which continues to be available to exhibitors and attendees at the 2012 Golf Industry Show, includes:

  • Golf Industry Show Connection smartphone app that streamlines the experience by allowing attendees to search for exhibitors, review sessions, access Las Vegas destinations, follow the Golf Industry Show Twitter feed and more.
  • My Planner allows attendees to plan their conference and show experience in advance and then update it while on site. Attendees can communicate with exhibitors to set appointments, map their route on the trade show floor and find new exhibitors.
  • The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction will be conducted online Feb. 1 - March 12. Proceeds from the auction support environmental stewardship, research and education, and player development. Auction funds also provide young people with the opportunity to learn golf and the life values the game of golf represents. The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is presented by The Environmental Institute for Golf (the philanthropic organization of GCSAA), the NGCOA Foundation, the ASGCA, and the GCBAA Foundation.

The GCSAA Education Conference and NGCOA Annual Conference will be held in conjunction with the Golf Industry Show, Feb. 27 - 28, and March 2. Among the more popular sessions taking place March 2 will be consecutive sessions focusing on current events. At 8-9:30 a.m. a panel featuring Golfweek’s Brad Klein; Bob Farren, CGCS at Pinehurst; architect Bill Coore; and USGA Executive Director Mike Davis will discuss the renovation of Pinehurst No. 2. That will be followed at 10 a.m. - noon with the always popular USGA Green Section Education Program.
