Profession, GCSAA on XM Satellite Radio

GCSAA’s outreach campaign has hit the “digital” airwaves.

Beginning in August 2005, GCSAA and the PGA Tour Network on XM Satellite Radio, channel 146, reached an agreement for superintendents hosting PGA Tour events to appear on the network once a week. In addition, other GCSAA guests will appear on a frequent basis.

XM Satellite RadioSuperintendents are interviewed by host Peter Kessler on his Making the Turn show, broadcast each weekday morning, 8-9 a.m. (Eastern), where they discuss course set-up and preparation for the tournament, interesting and historical facts about the facility and the superintendent profession in general.

GCSAA superintendents hosting PGA Tour events have also been frequent guests on XM Satellite Radio's live tournament coverage, doing taped and live interviews on the PGA Tour Channel, on-site throughout each event.

Coinciding with the PGA Tour's first round of its inaugural FedExCup Playoffs in August 2007, GCSAA expanded its agreement with XM Satellite Radio's PGA Tour channel (146) to include archived interviews of GCSAA members from its PGA Tour coverage online at PGATOUR.com.
