2009
Research Grant Program deadline Nov. 14 GCSAA invites you to submit a research
proposal to the 2009 Research Grant Program. We
are excited to fund new applied agronomic, environmental
and regulatory research that will benefit golf course
superintendents and the golf courses they manage.
We encourage superintendents and turfgrass scientists
to work together to identify research needs and
to jointly develop the research proposal. Here’s
how it works.
Golf
facilities denied federal disaster relief GCSAA launched a disaster relief grassroots
campaign a few weeks ago, and GCSAA affiliated chapters
heeded the call to action with a quick and strong
response. Unfortunately, Congress passed and President
Bush signed into law, economic rescue legislation
Friday, Oct. 3, that included a tax extender/disaster
relief package which once again denies golf facilities
access to federal disaster relief. Learn
more.

Beware
of non-official housing providers
It has recently come to our attention
that unofficial travel companies are misrepresenting
themselves as official housing agencies
of the GCSAA Education Conference and
the Golf Industry Show. The official travel
agency is Golf
Industry Travel. We are unsure how
these companies “harvest”
attendee telephone numbers and e-mail
addresses because GCSAA does not publish
this information. Please be aware of these
non-official companies and bring any questionable
solicitations to our attention.
Each month,
GCSAA provides membership reports of
new, reclassified and dropped members to assist
chapters with the shared membership verification
process. Get
these reports now.
