Forty-one affiliated chapters receive grants for logo adoption efforts
Forty-one of GCSAA’s 101 affiliated chapters have adopted the new chapter logo in order to piggyback their outreach efforts with GCSAA’s national outreach campaign. GCSAA will invest $1.35 million in 2008 on its television, print and other marketing efforts. Each chapter has received a $1,000 grant to help them transition to the new logo. Industry leaders converge on Capitol Hill for first National Golf Day
GCSAA was front and center with its golf association peers in Washington, D.C., April 16, as participants in the first-ever National Golf Day. The goal of this event was to deliver the message of the game’s positive economic, environmental and charitable impact on the United States.

  Combest to Lead National Auctioneers Association
Hannes Combest, CAE, GCSAA Managing Director, Member Programs has been chosen as the new CEO for the National Auctioneers Association based in Overland Park, Kan. Combest joined GCSAA in May 1996 as a manager of education and quickly climbed the ranks. She has been integral in GCSAA’s efforts to elevate the profile of the membership and the association, and in developing key relationships with a variety of constituent groups. A certified association executive, her last day at GCSAA will be May 28.
“This is a bittersweet day for association,” GCSAA President David S. Downing II,CGCS said. “We are sad to be losing a wonderful team member who has served the membership with dedication, passion and pride. However, we know this is a wonderful opportunity for her. We wish her all the best.”
