- Chapter Outreach Grant applications now open
Applications are now open for the GCSAA Chapter Outreach Grant Program, which helps chapters engage in activities to communicate the value of membership to key constituents. New criteria was approved for this year's program to help increase its reach and reduce duplication of efforts. Applications are due April 15.
O'Keefe elected president of GCSAA
John J. O’Keefe, CGCS, director of golf course management at Preakness Hill Country Club in Wayne, N.J., has been elected president of GCSAA for 2015. Peter J. Grass, CGCS, will be vice president and William H. Maynard, CGCS, will serve as secretary/treasurer. Rafael Barajas, CGCS, will continue on the board as a director and Kevin P. Breen, CGCS, was appointed to the board for a one-year term. Also at the Annual Meeting, the membership approved a slight dues increase for 2015.
- New Equipment Manager membership classification approved
GCSAA members voted to introduce an equipment manager classification for association membership. The vote took place as part of the Annual Meeting. Equipment managers will be welcomed with a complimentary introductory membership through 2015 and can register online at www.gcsaa.org. GCSAA has compiled a collection of tools and resources specifically for equipment managers.
