Appoint your chapter’s voting delegate and alternate by Oct. 1
The voting delegate is the individual who attends the GCSAA annual meeting and casts votes on behalf of your affiliated chapter. Submit this form.

Chapter Delegates Meeting agenda distributed and pre-work assigned
The delegates have received a draft agenda for the Chapter Delegates Meeting on Oct. 12 – 14. They also were asked to work with chapter leaders in answering questions on chapter effectiveness. Read on for more information about the delegates meeting.

Candidates announced for 2008 GCSAA Board of Directors
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has announced the official slate of candidates for its 2008 elections. Voting members will elect three officers and two directors at the 2008 Annual Meeting, Friday, Feb. 1, held in conjunction with the 2008 GCSAA Education Conference (Jan. 28-Feb. 2) and Golf Industry Show (Jan. 31-Feb. 2) in Orlando. Volunteers are the heart of every association and GCSAA is no exception!
GCSAA will soon be recruiting for 2008 committees and task groups, and we are very interested in the contributions that you will be able to provide. Please stay tuned for additional information!

Summer Board of Directors Strategic Updates Available
Chapter Delegates have been sent the Strategic Updates from the Summer Board of Directors meeting. Decisions were reached on the following:

  • The agenda for the upcoming Chapter Delegates meeting
  • Board recommendations for a dues proposal
  • Committee term limit recommendations to encourage and identify future leaders of the association
  • A Web Forum Policy and stepping-up of enforcement

  • Contact your Chapter Delegate for more information.

    GCSAA needs your help to provide superintendents with ideas and resources for outreach and education to school children
    GCSAA is looking for photos, articles, lesson plans and anything else superintendents have used to help teach students about golf course management, the environment and golf. If your efforts have been featured in an article in the newspaper, chapter newsletter, online or elsewhere, please share it with us. We hope your experiences will help other superintendents who want to work with public and private school students and teachers. Please send your information to Anne Woods, Sr. Coordinator, Environmental Programs.

    The Mid-Atlantic Association of GCS celebrates the success of the Stewards of the Chesapeake Tournament. The chapter uses the event to build relationships with the EPA and to raise money for research and a lobbyist.
