Mission Statement

The Environmental Institute for Golf is committed to strengthening the compatibility of the game of golf with our natural environment.

Programs funded by The Institute

The Institute funds more than $1 million annually in environmental programs, including scientific research, education, information collection and scholarships.

Why should my chapter support The Institute?

Support the future of the game and its positive impact on your community.

With chapter and individual support:

  • Seven new education seminars were developed and debuted at the 2006 GCSAA Education Conference.
  • More than 50 scholarships were awarded last year to students and researchers to advance the golf course management profession, bringing the total to more than 1,300.
  • Currently 24 scientific research projects are being funded. Since 1995 nearly 70 projects that provide information on innovative best management practices have been funded.
  • Information, tools and resources like EDGE continue to spread the knowledge of environmental stewardship practices.
