Ad submissions

For advertisers to fully enjoy the benefits of our 100% digital workflow, GCM recommends that all ads be submitted in digital format. For your convenience several options for submitting your ads are available.

Online

Ads may be uploaded to GCSAA’s FTP site. Instructions are available on how to FTP your files, however, a press-ready proof is required to ensure that all the elements are in place to produce your ad to the highest industry standards.

Please do not e-mail your ad. E-mail files often present problems in transferring data across platforms.

By Mail

Mail your CD, JAZ or ZIP disk, along with a SWOP-certified proof to:

Acceptable File Formats

Digital files (recommended):

  • PDF (using the Prinergy plug-in) or PostScript (using the Prinergy refiner PPD)
    • Golf Course Management, in partnership with Banta Publications Group, utilizes the "Prinergy Workflow".  For more information, tips and techniques, and instructions for the creation of PDF and PostScript files and downloads, go to bantapublications.com and click on the Prinergy link.  Prinergy is page-based, which makes for fast edit and proofing cycles.  Prinergy uses PDF as its internal file format.  PDF pages are easy to view, small in size, and can be password protected.
  • Accepted files:
    • TIFF / IT-PI
    • PDF / X-I A

Proofs for Digital and Application Files

  • All color proofs submitted must be prepared to SWOP specifications.  Proofs not prepared to SWOP specs cannot be matched on press.
  • All color proofs must be made from the same digital or application files submitted for publication.
  • If a proof cannot be submitted or a substandard proof (proof that does not meet SWOP standards) is submitted, Golf Course Management and GCSAA will not be responsible for errors made in the reproduction of the ad.  GCM can provide a proof of suitable quality at the advertiser's expense.
