You can never underplay the importance of ongoing education. That's why we offer education opportunities for you and your employees on issues in budgeting, turfgrass, the environment and more. There's also room for participation as an instructor. Several forums are provided for you to share your research results and technical expertise. Interested? Contact your account manager.
Seminars
Seminars vary in length from half-day to two-day format. Currently, seminars of one hour or greater in length will be considered for acceptance into the education program. GCSAA educational programs, including seminars, are competency based, covering the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be a successful golf course superintendent. The GCSAA Training Standard is available for your information as you develop a new seminar. Seminar proposals are accepted Jan. 1 to March 3.
Sessions
Sessions are presented at GCSAA's annual conference and show. Presentation times vary from 15 minutes to three hours, depending on the topic and program format. Attendance ranges from 50 in the smaller, special interest sessions to 1000 in the larger sessions. Topics include innovative golf course management or current trends. Presentation proposals are accepted Jan.1 to March 14.
Training programs
Do you have a top-notch training program already in place? Submit it to GCSAA for approval. If approved, you can offer programs to GCSAA members for education points, necessary for Class A and certified superintendents.
Online programs
GCSAA develops online education by seeking subject matter experts whose seminar content can easily be adapted to an online format. GCSAA's online developers program the content into an engaging and interactive online course. You may also submit an online proposal and specify "online course" in the delivery format field.
