Brian Cloud has extensive background in the golf course management industry through his experience as a golf course superintendent, agronomic consultant, association volunteer, and as the chapter executive for the North Texas GCSA. During his eight years of service in this capacity to the North Texas GCSA, he was involved with the development, initiation and expansion of numerous member services and programs. Including his service as a board member, officer and president of the NTGCSA, he has had more than 18 years of experience in association management. He brings a high level of experience and expertise to the region he now serves, which includes the affiliated chapters in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Cloud, who has a bachelor's degree in agronomy from Texas A&M University, got his start in the industry as an assistant golf course superintendent at The Northwood Club in Dallas and Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth. His resume includes superintendent positions at Fossil Creek Golf Club in Fort Worth, Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, Calif., and Mira Vista Golf Club in Fort Worth. Cloud prepped Mira Vista for several high-profile state championship events, helped the facility earn high rankings and recognition, and oversaw a renovation project in 1999 that included greens, irrigation system, tee and bunker construction, and fairway and approach leveling. Cloud was a GCSAA member all 18 years of his superintendent career and served on both the Election and Chapter Relations Committees for GCSAA. He held the GCSAA Certified Golf Course Superintendent designation for 15 years and performed as a certification attester for GCSAA.
