Hess wins GCSAA National Championship!

Adam Hess, the assistant superintendent at Augusta Pines Golf Club in Spring, Texas, defeated Tim Scott, CGCS, in a playoff to capture the 2010 GCSAA National Championship at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West in Palm Springs, Calif., on Feb. 7. Hess, playing in the National Championship for the first time, parred the first playoff hole to defeat Scott, the GCSAA certified golf course superintendent at Stony Creek Golf Course in Oak Lawn, Ill., who missed a five-foot putt for a par of his own on the hole.

Put your game to the test against 100 of the best golfers in GCSAA in this 36-hole stroke-play event. This year's competition will be played on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West and will feature a new senior division for those 50 and over.

The Golf Classic offers more relaxed competition and the chance to develop new friends, and pick up tips and techniques from your peers while playing the game you love. The 2010 event will be played over four fantastic courses in Palm Springs and features a series of fun contests to add even more spirit to the competition.

Four-Ball Mixer

Friday, Feb. 5

Tee off your tournament experience with the Four-Ball Mixer, the fun event where you and your partner each play your own ball and take the lower score for each hole. The new schedule gives all participants a chance to join in the event.
