Certification eligibility for grandfathered members

Grandfathered Class A or the Superintendent Member, will qualify as applicants until 7/1/2008 and 7/1/2011 respectively by meeting the criteria listed below. If applicant status is not reached by the 2008 and 2011 deadlines, these individuals will become subject to the non-grandfathered eligibility requirements.

Locate your level of education on the table and read along that same line for the required experience as a golf course superintendent plus the number of education points you must earn before applying to the program. Only completed degrees, turf certificates (programs of at least 400 contact hours) or 31.5 education Points meet the education criteria.

egin earning your education points now, so by the time you meet the experience requirement, you will be ready to begin the application process. The education points you earn toward certification will also count toward the points required to maintain your Class A.

**Individuals entering the certification program in the "no degree or recognized certificate" category may retroactively receive 21 education points (formerly known as CEUs) derived from previous golf course management related college experience, as well as for extended turf short courses greater than four days and less than 400 contact hours.
