Understanding Insect Pests on Golf Courses
This course begins by reviewing basic insect biology before going more in-depth to examine how the biology of specific turfgrass pests implicates control efforts. It further explains various control methodologies in relation to insect structure, function and biology.
Learn to identify the major surface and subsurface warm-season turfgrass pests that attack turfgrass on golf courses, as well as insect life stages and the damage each stage can cause. Also, participants will learn various control options that can be used for each of the major warm-season turfgrass pests.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to correlate specific insect biology to decision-making processes relative to control methods. You will then be better able to forecast insect pest outbreaks to be more time-efficient with your management program.
