Dollars & Sense of a Foliar Fertilization Program

This 90-minute webcast covers the basic biology and physiology of foliar uptake. Michael D. Richardson, Ph.D., will also examine some practical research on the rate of uptake of various nitrogen sources when applied to putting greens. In addition, participants will examine the economics of various foliar programs, the environmental advantages of foliar fertilization, and management considerations to maximize foliar uptake of nutrients.

About the instructor

Mike Richardson, Ph.D., is professor of horticulture at the University of Arkansas. He earned his bachelor and master of science degrees at Louisiana State University and his doctorate at the University of Georgia. Richardson’s research focuses on cultural practices that impact cool- and warm-season turfgrass production in the transition zone. He also has been actively involved with research to screen and develop new turfgrasses for a wide range of turfgrass environments.
