My Best Feature is Bunkers

You love ‘em and you hate ‘em. Bunkers may be the most debated feature of the golf course. In this 90-minute webcast, Bob Randquist, CGCS, will discuss the design and maintenance issues involved in bunker management. Learn the factors golfers use to form opinions about their playability. Topics will also include how raking, grooming, moisture content and control, and other surface-related cultural practices, impact maintenance and playability. Numerous factors involved in making informed decisions about sand selection, bunker maintenance and corrective renovation will be covered.

About the instructor

Bob Randquist, CGCS

Robert M. Randquist, CGCS, is a past president of GCSAA and has been director of golf course and grounds at Boca Rio Golf Club in Boca Raton, Fla., since November 1998. Prior to that, he served as the golf course superintendent at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. Randquist earned a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He has hosted the 1982 and 1994 PGA Championships, 1995 and 1996 PGA Tour Championships, and the 1987 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. Randquist also teaches Hazardous Duty: Basic Bunker Maintenance, a half-day seminar at the annual GCSAA Education Conference.
