Water requirements

Greens require varying amounts of rainfall or irrigation to fully charge their root zones and to accomplish leaching, according to research at the University of Ohio. Of course, leaching requirements are often a smaller percetage of the leaching fraction than what was estimated here and can best be determined by soil testing. Values in the last column would typically be multiplied by this smaller percentage (10 to 25 percent) to determine actual leaching requirements.
