GCSAA 2001 legislative/regulatory agenda

GCSAA government relations staff monitor, report and take action on government issues at the local, state and federal levels. Staff keep members informed about government activity through the Greens & Grassroots newsletter and by direct contact with GCSAA chapters, state turfgrass associations and allied organizations.

The following is a partial list of services provided to members and others in the golf course management industry:

Interpretation of legislative and regulatory proposals
Publicity of opportunities for grassroots action
Advice on lobbying strategies, including using the media
Lawmaker contact information, including mailing labels
Outline, draft or ready-to-use position statements, letters, testimony, articles and other communication vehicles
Lobbying packets (information for lawmakers, such as the Environmental Principles)
Advocacy training for superintendents and allies
Participation in and building of coalitions
Issue-specific action checklists
Coordination of national proactive efforts
