Solution Centers innovate on trade show floor

Solution Centers are arrayed on the trade show floor to provide timely and relevant solutions to the golf course management team.

The Golf Industry Show, Feb. 22-24 in the Anaheim Convention Center, is an innovative trade show designed for the owners/
operators of golf facilities and the professional members of the golf course and club management industries. Featuring its signature interactive solution centers, as well as the largest exhibit floor in the industry, the event combines education, networking and solutions for golf course superintendents, owners/operators, general managers, chief operating officers, architects and builders.

More than 25,000 golf industry professionals are expected to attend this year’s show, which will feature approximately 1,200 exhibitors arrayed on 298,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The exhibits are segmented on the show floor by product category. Golf course solutions will be on display in Halls D, C and A, and clubhouse, range and outdoor facility solutions can be found in Halls B and A. Hall E, located directly below Hall D, also will house exhibits. The segmentation ensures that attendees can efficiently navigate the show floor and find the solutions they are looking for.

In addition, a number of special features have been designed to enhance the show experience. Showcased on the floor will be four solution centers, each focused on a particular area of golf facility management and each offering interactive demonstrations, pre-
sentations and case studies by industry experts and informative displays.

The Golf Industry Show Solution Centers will feature captivating and dynamic activities that will highlight the attendee’s role in facility success and the advancement of the industry. Attendees can see the latest in research and technology, learn from industry experts, share best practices and take away applicable solutions for efficient course, facility and club operations. Hands-on displays and influential programming and appearances will focus on strategies and techniques for successful teamwork and golf course, facility and club
operations.

With the entire golf course and facility management team under one roof, teamwork will be an important theme at the Golf Industry Show.

Friday, Feb. 23 is designated Golf Industry Show Team Day — an event that will bring together owners/operators of golf facilities and the professional members of the golf course and club management industries for an innovative and exciting day to celebrate the business of golf. The day will kick off with the Golf Industry Show General Session, featuring Pat Croce. Following this session, attendees can select one of two stimulating concurrent sessions — one presented by the USGA Green Section and one presented by the Disney Institute in partnership with The Toro Co. Teamwork and leadership will be the focus of these sessions. Team Day will continue with the trade show, where the golf course, facility and club management team can travel the floor together and participate in exciting programming in the Team Solutions Center and other solution centers.

The following is a rundown on what you can expect at each solution center.

The Team Solutions Center will be front and center on the trade show floor and will feature a dynamic center stage housing exciting presentations, demonstrations and appearances. Activities will focus on the importance of teamwork to the success of the facility. Appearances will include the Disney Institute, presented in partnership with The Toro Co.; the American Culinary Federation Culinary Team USA, presented in partnership with CMAA; and Billy Ripken, presented in partnership with Jacobsen, a Textron Co. Each program presenter will feature displays and activities throughout the show, with takeaways and resources for successful team building. Visit www.golfindustryshow.com for a complete list of Team Solutions Center programs.

The Clubhouse Solutions Center will feature products that include cutting-edge technology to improve the member, guest and golfer experience. In addition, attendees will visualize and learn the benefits of a fully equipped and efficiently designed and managed spa facility at a course or club. The spa creation concepts will be presented by WTS International. Finally, the American Culinary Federation Culinary Team USA will perform with educational cooking and equipment demonstrations and taste testing. Attendees can also enjoy presentations by entegra/ICS, DISCUS, Aramark and more.

The Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects, GCSAA and the Irrigation Association will construct and renovate bunkers in the Golf Course Solutions Center.

The construction and renovation projects also will be tied into one or more of the GCSAA Education Conference offerings throughout the week, including the Feb. 22 Remodeling University, in which seminar participants will take a field trip onto the show floor to see the construction projects in action. Complementing the construction and renovation projects will be presentations by some of the marquee names in golf course architecture, construction and renovation.

The Range and Outdoor Facility Solutions Center will feature an indoor golf studio, presented by Golf Greens “Fore” U, complete with hitting stations, tee boxes and a putting green. Another highlight will be an outdoor events showcase in which facility representatives can learn how to generate non-golf revenue through outdoor events such as weddings, receptions, family picnics and more. GPS and other outdoor facility technologies also will be showcased in this solution center, including golf car GPS technology that allows golfers to measure distances and order food and beverages while on the course and superintendents to monitor pace of play and track golf car and utility vehicle travel.

By participating in The Solutions Challenge, attendees can have fun as they travel around the trade show floor. This is an interactive way for participants to increase their knowledge about golf course management and have a chance to win great prizes by visiting participating exhibitors identified by a Solutions Challenge flag and solving a golf course or facility problem at each stop. As participants complete their scorecards, they simply turn them in to receive a commemorative golf legend print, and enter the drawing for other prizes.

You can access the most current information about the Golf Industry Show, including program schedules and a real-time online show floor plan, at www.golfindustryshow.com. The Golf Industry Show is presented by GCSAA, the National Golf Course Owners Association and the Club Managers Association of America, along with supporting organizations the Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects and the National Golf Foundation.
