Brockman promoted to senior VP at ScottsMiracle-Gro

Vincent C. Brockman has been promoted to senior vice president by the Scotts Miracle-Gro Co.

He serves as the company's chief ethics and compliance officer and is also its chief administrative officer. During his tenure at ScottsMiracle- Gro, he has been instrumental in improving several critical functions within the organization.

Brockman joined ScottsMiracle-Gro's legal team in 2002 as assistant general counsel. He was named chief ethics and compliance officer in 2004 and chief administrative officer in 2006.

Prior to joining the company, he was assistant general counsel for Borden Foods Corp. and had previously served in several management positions with Borden Inc.


Houser named TCIA chair

Jeanne Houser, vice president and general manager of McFarland Landscape Services of Philadelphia, was installed as chair of the Tree Care Industry Association at its annual meeting. She will serve a one-year term.

“Jeannie has been there for TCIA during a number of challenging moments,” said outgoing chairman, Tom Golon, president of Wonderland Tree Care in Oyster Bay, N.Y. “She is committed to the transformation of the industry and has given countless hours to prepare for this role. I am delighted that she will be facilitating the board’s work next year.”


Jacobsen names Nicotera VP of sales

Ralph Nicotera has accepted a new position with Jacobsen as vice president of sales.

He combines an extensive background at Jacobsen with a wealth of successful sales and management experience. In his new role, Nicotera will manage all sales-related activities in the Americas and Asia Pacific. He will also be responsible for national account, turf direct and sales support organizations.

Nicotera has been with Jacobsen for more than 30 years, beginning his career in 1974 as a sales and marketing administrator. Since then, he has held a variety of leadership positions in sales, dealer development, marketing and product management, serving most recently as vice president of market development.
