Lund wins Rhode Island GCSA Distinguished Service Award

Peter Lund, CGCS at Rhode Island Country Club, has received the Rhode Island GCSA Distinguished Service Award in recognition of the dedication and professionalism he has exhibited in the business and among his peers.

Lund began his career as a superintendent at Farmingberry Country Club in Wolcott, Conn. He later worked at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, Mass., followed by the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown Mass., and finally on to Rhode Island CC in 1993.

While at Rhode Island CC, he has hosted many local and regional events through the Rhode Island Golf Association but is best known for the work of his department with the CVS Charity Classic inaugurated 1998 to present.

In 2005, he was awarded the GCSAA President's Award for Environmental Stewardship for his work with Save the Bay.

Lund's grandfather, Andrew Sr., and his father, Andrew Jr., were both golf course superintendents before him.
