GCSAA's Mona featured in Wall Street Journal
GCSAA CEO Steve Mona is well-known in the turf industry for his work ethic and commitment to a healthy lifestyle, despite a busy schedule that's filled with meetings and travel.
Now, his secrets for maintaining fitness have been revealed, thanks to The Wall Street Journal's "What's Your Workout" feature. In the Jan. 29 edition of the newspaper reporter Jen Murphy talked to Mona and he shared some tips on staying healthy, while spending as much as a third of his time traveling.

Kubly joins Advisory Council
Bill Kubly, CEO of Landscapes Unlimited and chairman of The Environmental Institute for Golf's board of trustees, has joined the Advisory Council for The Institute.
A former president of the Golf Course Builders Association of America, Kubly has built and renovated hundreds of golf courses. Landscapes Unlimited has been named the National Golf Course Builder of the Year by several times by Golf Course News. Kubly ranked 13th in Golf Inc. magazine's 2006 Top 25 Most Powerful People in Golf, he has been instrumental in The First Tee Program and is a member of the University of Nebraska Business Hall of Fame.
The Advisory Council provides guidance to The Institute's board of trustees in the areas of outreach, fundraising and strategic planning. The members were selected to enhance The Institute's ability to cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, as well as communicate the importance of the work conducted by The Institute.
A member of The Institute's board of trustees since 2004, Kubly will remain on the board through 2007 as the immediate past chairman and he will serve on the Advisory Council, headed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, through 2009.
"This is a generous donation of time and leadership," said Norman, chairman and CEO of Great White Shark Enterprises. "Bill's passion in leading the board of trustees will give this advisory council a unique opportunity to assist The Institute even further."
Wolfarth named to water efficiency board
Ron Wolfarth, Rain Bird's director of landscape irrigation division, has been named to the board of directors for the EPA's Alliance for Water Efficiency. He is one of 19 board members selected from throughout North America to provide water conservation expertise and guidance to the Alliance.
Based in Chicago, the Alliance for Water Efficiency is a new national, non-profit organization created as a clearinghouse and advocate for water efficiency research, evaluation and education. It was created in partnership with numerous nationwide, regional and state organizations interested in water conservation studies and outreach.
In addition to irrigation product producers, the Alliance for Water Efficiency's board members represent water utilities, product and appliance manufacturers, environmental organizations and academic institutions.
In addition, Wolfarth currently serves on the Irrigation Association's Smart Water Technologies Market Transformation Committee, the Irrigation Association's Education Foundation Board of Trustees and the steering committee advising the EPA on its WaterSense product labeling program.
