Friday is Team Day at GIS

In addition to Pat Croce’s presentation at the General Session, Golf Industry Show Team Day offered a number of opportunities to develop teamwork and leadership skills crucial for the development of each member of the golf course team.

In the morning, there were concurrent sessions presented by the USGA Green Section and the Disney Institute.

Collaboration: The Execution of Teamwork, by the Disney Institute presented in partnership with The Toro Co. was tailored specifically for the Golf Industry Show.

The presentation explored the legacy of teamwork and collaboration in Walt Disney theme parks and resorts, and let attendees experience fun training techniques designed to identify the value of key team success factors.

The USGA Green Section Education Program – Myths, Fads and Fallacies: Their Impact on the Game – highlighted the irony of change over the years. Topics included: staying out of court with disability issues; myths about golf equipment; a look behind the scenes at the U.S. Open.

Front and center on the trade show floor, the Team Solutions Center features a center stage for presentations, demonstrations and appearances. Activities focus on the importance of teamwork, and can be applied to the success of the facility.

On Thursday, David Pillsbury, president/COO of PGA Tour Golf Course Properties, and other representatives from the PGA Tour offered a behind-the-scenes look at the new FedEx Cup competition highlighting the the teamwork it took to develop the schedule, from working with the sponsor, the venues and much more.

Today, in addition to the concurrent session the Disney Institute  made another high-energy presentation in the Team Solutions Center on the legacy of teamwork and collaboration in Walt Disney Theme Parks and Resorts.

Golf Channel Business Reporter Adam Barr shared the behind-the-scenes happenings of his acclaimed series "What's in the Bag," taking attendees from start to finish of a 30 minute show, introducing the dozens of individuals who truly do work as a team to make the concept reality.
Adjacent to the center stage will be displays providing takeaways, team building exercises and case studies, all of which can be shared at your facility.
