Northern Turf introduces ride-on Spread-n-Spray

Northern Turf Equipment Mfg. has introduced the SS 220 Ride On Spread-n-Spray designed for golf course maintenance and lawn care providers.

The SS220 provides synchronized spreading and spraying so both applications can be made at the same time, dramatically reducing application time.

The unit spreads fertilizer from 4 to 32 feet from a 220-pound hopper with easy dashboard adjustment. The 20 gallon spray unit provides three spray patterns on the fly--4, 8 and 16 feet

The SS220 has with two spread speeds and six spray rates allowing the use of all control products in the green industry. It features a 3-foot turning radius, three forward speeds, reverse, differential lock, and dual hydraulic front disc brakes mounted on a tubular stainless steel chassis. It can be transported on a hitch-mounted platform. Contact 847- 540-2335, www.northernturfequipment.com.

TeeJet launches automatic boom section control

TeeJet has introduced BoomPilot, which provides automatic boom section control for sprayers and spreader equipment to minimize costly chemical consumption.

BoomPilot records the GPS location and the location of the applied areas. When a section of the sprayer boom overlaps one of the applied areas, the system automatically switches that boom section off. When the boom re-enters the unapplied area, the boom section is turned on once again.

"Automatic on and off control of sprayer booms sections is becoming much more critical in spraying and spreading applications today," said Jim Shone, TeeJet sales director "The BoomPilot reduces overlap and saves money on material inputs, fuel, time and operator fatigue."

BoomPilot has the capability of controlling up to 15 boom sections, independent of one another.  The product is an add-on device to existing GPS guidance systems or receivers and can be used in conjunction with most third party rate controls.  Contact http://www.teejet.com.

Antimicrobial lockers fight bacteria and mold

Lyon Antimicrobial Lockers are finished in an advanced powder coating technology from DuPont and Agion Antimicrobial that inhibits bacterial, mold and odor build-up on locker surfaces, as well as the touch transfer of microbes on locker handles and doors.

Moisture on the surface triggers a controlled release of silver ions to provide superior antimicrobial protection for decades. These ions are noxious even to drug-resistant MRSA.

The company says the antimicrobial compound is completely inorganic, less toxic than ordinary table salt, less irritating than talcum powder, and has been approved for medical devices and food contact applications. The cost for this protection is nominal, considering that it will last for the estimated 20-year lifecycle of the locker.

Cat introduces enhanced B2 loaders

Caterpillar's new B2 Series of skid steer loaders and multi terrain loaders feature an improved operator station, an advanced hydraulic system and a wide range of standard features and options designed to meet a variety of production and comfort requirements in the compact machines.

Six skid-steer loaders and two new multi-terrain loaders constitute the line of machines.
All B2 series machines have ergonomic operator stations that feature easy-to-use pilot-operated joystick controls for reduced operator fatigue and increased productivity. High-performance power trains provide high engine horsepower and torque, allowing part-throttle operation for lower sound levels and fuel consumption.

They also have an advanced hydraulic system designed for maximum power and reliability. An optional high-flow hydraulic system is available on three models for applications that demand maximum work tool performance.

Optional equipment is available bundled in packages to make selection easier--including four cab packages and three control packages.

Additional options include a gear pump high-flow system on the 226B2, 242B2 and 257B2 using an additional gear pump to provide added flow.

The multi-terrain loaders feature a 10 percent improvement in low-speed drawbar pull, and a single-level suspension undercarriage provides low ground pressure, stability, high traction and fast travel. A new track tensioning system permits quick and easier track adjustment.  Contact a local Caterpillar dealer or go to http://www.cat.com.
