BASF to supply triticonazole to Bayer ES
BASF Crop Protection has agreed to provide limited access to triticonazole fungicide to Bayer Environmental Science for United States and Canadian turf and landscape ornamental uses.
The supply agreement between BASF and Bayer is for certain uses including professional sports turf, golf, landscaping, and professional lawn care. BASF maintains all the rights to the active ingredient to sell the compound in all the markets where it is registered.
Triticonazole is the active ingredient in Trinity fungicide, which BASF will continue to support. The company says it will also continue to develop additional differentiated triticonazole product offerings. Trinity is a key element of BASF’s fungicide strategy, and BASF is investing in the continued growth and development of the molecule.
"BASF sees this as an opportunity for the expanded use of the triticonazole compound, as customers demand leading technology to replace older turf fungicides," said Markus Heldt, group vice president. "By providing access to Bayer we at BASF are enlarging the opportunity for this powerful new chemistry."
"We are excited about the addition of Chipco Triton to our market-leading fungicide portfolio," said Josh Weeks, vice president, Bayer Environmental Science. "This agreement allows Bayer to bring an even broader range of valued chemistry to our customers."
Stars and Stripes golf car honors U.S. troops
SoloRider will introduce its Stars and Stripes special edition golf car at the Golf Industry Show, in Orlando. In honor of U.S. military personnel, the car features a red-white-and-blue flag design over the entire body of the vehicle. The words In Their Honor are written on the car’s rear panel.
The limited-edition car is expected to be especially popular at military bases where SoloRider vehicles are in growing demand following the Dept. of Defense determination that the 1973 Rehabilitation Act requires military courses to provide single-rider golf cars.
"We’re indebted to our troops for their service and sacrifice, and this car is a tribute to their many contributions," said Tom Durbin, SoloRider’s vice president of sales.
In addition to the flag design, changes to the 2008 SoloRider make it more comfortable, simpler to operate and easier to maintain.
A new electric swivel seat complements SoloRider’s electric stand-up seat, giving golfers the ability to put themselves in the desired hitting position and then to return more easily to the driving position after they’ve played their shot.
"For players who have limited motion and strength in their hands and shoulders, the electric seat is going to make playing a round of golf far more enjoyable," said Roger Pretekin, founder and president of SoloRider. "It also will help reduce fatigue over an 18-hole round." Contact http://www.solorider.com.

Golftracker GPS adds features for superintendents
GolfTracker GPS, which produced stand-alone tracking systems for golf course maintenance equipment and carts, has continued the expansion of its product line by adding full report integration and industry comparative analysis to its lineup of management tools.
"One of the areas that continues to confound superintendents and GMs is accurately identifying operational versus special project expenditures. Now the superintendent can identify those costs and eliminate the negative impact on their operating budget," said Shayne Watts, vice president.
Also, by using the system’s comparison to standard times, idle time and off-site alerts and route tracking, every course manager can improve both labor and equipment efficiencies.
Released in the fall of 2007, GT Superintendent 1.0 provides the ability to track equipment instantly without the expensive investment required by other GPS systems. With an Internet connection, it allows the superintendent to easily access all of their course data on the go, anywhere in the world, even from a web-enabled smartphone or internet tablet. The live tracking feature gives the superintendent an instant look at where their equipment is on the golf course. Contact http://www.golftrackergps.com/.
