  • GCSAA Class A and SM members can express their opinions and earn .25 service points by taking the annual Leadership Survey. It will be available online through Feb. 29. The results will be provided to the national media. Golf Industry Show attendees can take the survey at the Internet Café.

  • At Friday's General Session, Steve Mona announced a five-year extension of the Golf Industry Show, while keynote speaker Doug Keeley spoke about what makes a leader.

  • It's all about the blogs. Seth Jones, GCM Sr. Associate Editor, takes blogging to the next level. He posted live to the GCM blog from Scott Hollister's presentation to GCSAA chapter editors, named "Blog: The four-letter word you should use everyday." So you have a blogger posting to the blog, about another blogger who's giving a talk on blogging. Oh, and Hollister made a post to the blog during his presentation.

  • Donald Hearn, CGCS, is one of three recipients of GCSAA's 2008 Distinguished Service Award. He started caddying at age 9 and went on to serve as president of GCSAA in 1987. GCM Associate editor Darcy DeVictor has profiled Hearn on the GCM blog.
