Toro introduces Groundsmaster 5900 and 5910

The Toro Co. has introduced the next generation of its 16-foot area rotary mowers--the Groundsmaster 5900 and 5910.

All new from the ground up, the 5900 series is said to deliver industry-leading power, precise maneuverability, four-wheel drive capability, increased operator comfort, and reduced noise levels to benefit both the operator and the surrounding environment.

Equipped with a 99-horsepower Cummins turbo diesel engine, the 5900 series can mow more than 13 acres an hour. The mowers come standard with a four-way adjustable seat plus an air ride suspension, while their seat-mounted ControlHub offers easy fingertip actuation of controls.

The mowers also feature the onboard InfoCenter diagnostics that provides critical operating information for machine management, system protection, trouble-shooting and safety. Standard on the Groundsmaster 5900 and 5910,  InfoCenter provides clear and simple information on calibration, diagnostics and systems alerts for the operator and technician. Natural Forces introduces SorbiShield 90

Natural Forces has introduced SorbiShield 90, its second new sugar-based insecticide that uses sorbitol octanoate as its active ingredient.

The other sugar-based insecticide offered by the company is SucraShield, which uses sucrose octanoate esters. With its broad-spectrum label, SorbiShield 90 gives commercial greenhouse, nursery and food growers a new pest control choice when fighting mites, aphids, mealy bugs and other soft-bodied insects.

It is labeled for use on nearly 100 different vegetable, herb, spice, fruit and nut, and field crops. The biochemical insecticide/miticide can even be sprayed on edible crops the day of harvest without restriction. In addition, it can be used to deter pests from ornamental landscape trees and shrubs, Christmas trees, roses and other flowering and bedding plants. Customers will notice results within minutes after using this foliar spray for infestation control and prevention.

"SorbiShield 90 provides those in the agricultural, greenhouse and landscaping industries with another option in pest control," said Devlin Reynolds, president. "Not only is it effective and fast acting, but it’s also a new family of resistance management chemistry that has a low impact on beneficial insects, making it an especially attractive alternative."

SorbiShield 90 works by penetrating and burning holes in the outer covering of the target pest. The unique chemical makeup enables it to act fast on pest insects without leaving anything to harm beneficial insects. Once the product has dried, it rapidly degrades to harmless, environmentally friendly compounds. Contact http://www.naturalforcesllc.com.

Dawn Industries shows its true color

Many companies are getting on board the green movement with recycling efforts and conservation, but the people at Dawn Industries say they've been running green for more than 20 years.

"It has always been a factor in the way we do business", said David Berg, director of marketing. "We recycle 100 percent of the excess plastic used in manufacturing our products, our waste management system has been very effective and all of the factory’s waste is recycled.  Our electricity and water usage continuously undergoes environmental examinations,  making sure our usage footprint is as small as possible."

He added that all packaging, both paper and plastic, is recycled and the company's box filler is 100 percent post-consumer recycled cardboard.

"We can all do our part to make the Green industry greener," Berg said. "Seek out manufacturers that have standards in place to help our environment here in the U.S. and around the world." Contact http://www.dawnindustries.com.
