Standard Golf offers innovative new marking system

Standard Golf says its EasyMark System brings ease and flexibility to placing a flagstick virtually anywhere on a golf course without having to a cut a cup hole.

"The EasyMark System allows flagsticks to be placed around the course more freely," said Matt Hurley, vice president of Standard Golf.  "Flagsticks can be set for different chip shot scenarios on practice greens, or at a driving range.  A course could also use the EasyMark System to set flagsticks lining a path to direct guests, or to help add a golfer's touch in decorating a special event.  The possibilities are endless."

The system includes a Tap-In Flagstick Anchor and a 3-inch spotter ring which allows flagsticks to be placed virtually anywhere in a matter of seconds.  The EasyMark System is especially useful for driving ranges and temporary greens, where flagsticks may be changed often in a variety of circumstances. The system works with any full-size flagstick with ferrule removed.  Standard Golf also offers the system with its 60-inch PlowMark rod, which is designed to identify unplowable areas for snow plows in inclement weather conditions, but is ideal for a host of other course marking uses as well.

Lasso check valve provides water hammer relief

Designed to provide water hammer relief and tight non-return shut-off for existing flanged piping systems, Lasso Technik has introduced the Stop-Silent Check Valve AS 54 Model.

The unique retrofit design can be implemented directly into a flanged pipe system without structural or housing alterations, providing a cost-effective solution for system upgrades.  Additional configurations are available to fulfill mounting requirements into fittings and standard unions.

The valve has no movable mechanical parts and consists only of two components, a perforated cone in stainless steel and a rubber membrane.  The company says the design eliminates water hammer and associated problems of noise and wear, resulting in quiet, noise-free operation. With no moving mechanical parts to wear the Stop-Silent Valve is said to offer maintenance-free service life of up to 10 years.

The valve is offered with choice of several diaphragm materials including EPDM, nitrile rubber, silicone, or fluorine rubber. Performance characteristics include a temperature range of -20 degrees C up to 180 degrees C and an operating pressure of up to 232 psi.

It is available in sizes from 1.5 to 8 inches and provides simple in-between flange-mounting for piping, foot-valves, and pumping plants.

Standard cones and valve sizes are also available from 1to 8 inches with multicone valves in sizes from 6 to 24 inches.

Otterbine releases Fountain Glo Par 64 lighting

Otterbine Barebo, manufacturer of aeration systems, has released its Fountain-Glo Par 64 lighting that produces 2,000 watts of power and over 38,000 lumens. The Par 64 system operates on 115 volts and features a two-light set with bulb life exceeding 4,000 hours.

"With the release of our large Aerating Fountain Line in 2006, and in combination with our existing Giant Fountain line, it was necessary to develop a lighting system capable of illuminating these impressive patterns. The challenge was to develop a system that would be able to illuminate both vertically, as well as horizontally, without being too intricate or complicated, "said Carla V. Ott, president.
