GCBAA elects officers, appoints committee chairs

The Golf Course Builders Association of America has elected a slate of officers to two-year terms. The new president Bob Pinson of Course Crafters Inc.; Mick Jones of The Toro Co is vice president; Ellen Davis, Waupaca Sand & Solutions and SportZmix Solutions is secretary; Steve Christman, Eagle Golf & Landscape Products is treasurer. The incoming president-elect is Dave Munkvold of Duininck Brothers Golf and Tom Shapland of Wadsworth Golf Construction is the past president.

In addition the following were appointed as chairmen of GCBAA Committees:

  • Architect Liaison Committee: Robert Pinson, Course Crafters Inc.

Agrium adds marketing manager

Agrium Advanced Technologies has hired Bryan Gooch as marketing manager for coated products in their Sylacauga, Ala., location.  Gooch will be responsible for product marketing and management for the Polyon and Duration brands.

Previously, Gooch spent nearly 10 years working for Bayer Environmental Science in various sales and marketing management positions.  His professional experience includes areas such as competitive and strategic planning, product launches, budgeting, pricing and accrual management.

Barenbrug appointed to company board

Frank Barenbrug has been appointed to the board of directors of Barenbrug Holding BV. He is the fourth generation in the board of the family business with a leading position in the international grass seed market.

Barenbrug (34) has been with the company for more than 10 years. As member of the board he will assume responsibility for business development, production and marketing of the group, worldwide.

He joined the Barenbrug Group in 1997 as a member of the marketing team of New Zealand Agriseeds and since 2005 has been the managing director of Barenbrug Palaversich in Argentina.
