Alejandro Campoy, golf course superintendent at Bosque Real Country Club, is hosting the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta in Huixquilucan, Estado De Mexico, Mexico.

Robert Hertzing, GCSAA Class A superintendent at Valencia Country Club, is hosting the AT&T Champions Classic in Valencia, Calif.

Williams, former GCSAA president, passes away at 93

Robert M. Williams, GCSAA president in 1958 and the 1977 recipient of GCSAA’s Distinguished Service Award, passed away last week at age 93.

In a career that spanned nearly 60 years Williams was known for his impact on changing the golf course management profession, putting a greater focus on business management, including long-range planning, budgeting and purchasing. He also mentored nearly 100 students and assistant superintendents.

Williams was the father of former GCSAA President Bruce R. Williams, CGCS. The family has asked that donations be directed to The Williams Leadership Endowment. For more visit the GCM blog.
