Insurance woes. According to a recent survey, only 59 percent of small firms (3-199 employees) offered health insurance benefits to their workers in 2005, a decrease of 9 percent from the year 2000. The main culprit? Rising insurance premiums – the study indicates that premiums have increased by as much as 73 percent since the year 2000.
