study. “A Critical Review of Water
Quality Impacts by Golf Courses: Update and Trends,”
funded by The Environmental Institute for Golf and
cosponsored by the USGA, is underway. The information
gathered will be used to assess the ecological implications
of land use planning regarding the construction
and maintenance of golf course facilities. Find

for bermudagrass cultivars ranging from
Tifgreen to new ultradwarf varieties, including
special procedures and problem-solving techniques
for bermudagrass greens maintenance in arid
and tropical climates. The workshop, taught
by David M. Kopec, Ph.D., extension specialist
and field researcher for turf at the University
of Arizona, and John L. Cisar, Ph.D., professor
of Turfgrass Management and Water at the
University of Florida, reviews the latest
scientific and practical research on varietal
maintenance information.
