Advanced Weed Management
The Advanced Weed Management seminar, taught by Bert McCarty,
Ph.D., professor of horticulture specializing in turfgrass science and
management at Clemson University and Fred Yelverton, Ph.D., professor of crop science at North Carolina State University, will provide in-depth information on weed management and plant growth regulator use with an emphasis on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
Seminar topics include biology, ecology and life cycles of major turfgrass weeds. In addition, McCarty and Yelverton will discuss herbicide families, the development of herbicide resistance by weeds and environmental considerations in herbicide use, along with tough-to-control turfgrass weeds.
