GCSAA’s government affairs team announces former Speaker of the House John Boehner as the Grassroots Ambassador Academy trainer at the 2020 Golf Industry Show in Orlando.
Boehner served as the 53rd speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. A Republican, he was the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 8th congressional district from 1991 to 2015. Boehner is also an avid golfer and is attending the GIS for the first time.
Attendance is limited to current GCSAA Grassroots Ambassadors. There are 163 spots left in the Grassroots Ambassador program. If you are interested in attending the Ambassador Academy and receiving instruction from Boehner, you can sign up for the Grassroots Ambassador Program online, or by contacting mlee@gcsaa.org or 800-472-7878, ext. 3612. To find out whether or not there are Grassroots Ambassador positions open in your state, check the Ambassador State Breakdown.
The GIS Ambassador Academy 1 will be 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Boehner is excited to work directly with GCSAA Grassroots Ambassadors on advocacy, communications, messaging tactics, and skills that will help them build proactive working relationships with memebers of Congress.
Ambassador Academy 2 will take place on the trade show floor from 3-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and be taught by the government affairs team. It will include a panel lineup of the 2019 Grassroots Ambassador Leadership Award recipients will share relationship building best practices.
