Access to programs now available
GCSAA is excited to announce that we have partnered with Association Health Program (AHP), an insurance broker who specializes in association management benefit plans, to offer health insurance to our members.
Access to the program began April 1, 2020 and is available in 38 states. Products and rates vary by state and individual circumstances. There are no options available in California and Hawaii as well as 10 other states due to state legal restrictions.
The program is open to GCSAA dues paying members (excluding the Friends of GCSAA members) and immediate family members (i.e. spouses and dependents).
The available plans are PPO, or Preferred Provider Organizations, that allow freedom and flexibility when choosing physicians and hospitals. Members have access to multiple plan designs that provide them with a choice of deductibles, out of pockets, benefit maximums, prescription co-pays, etc. AHP will work with members to determine which plans best fits each members unique circumstances and needs.
Providers vary by state-to-state with AHP partnering with A+ rated carriers including United Healthcare PPO, Aetna PPO and Cigna PPO. Purchasing through AHP will provide GCSAA members with flexible options, buying power and superior customer service.
Members who purchase policies will be responsible for 100 percent of the premiums with payments being made directly to the insurance provider. Members who are already on an employer’s policy can make a change but will need to wait until their current employers open enrollment or experience a qualifying event (birth, change in employment, divorce, etc.) in order to make a change. Conversely, a member enrolled in ACA policy can switch to a policy through the association as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
More information and enrollment is available on GCSAA's health care page and any questions can be directed to Nate Scott at nscott@gcsaa.org.
