About the instructor
John C. Sorochan, Ph.D., is an associate professor and distinguished scientist at the University of Tennessee.
He earned his bachelor and master of science degrees, as well as his doctorate, at Michigan State University. Sorochan’s research focuses on
cool- and warm-season putting green stress physiology and management. In addition to participation in many state and regional turfgrass conferences around the U.S., Sorochan has lectured on
multiple occasions in Germany on golf course shade, mowing and rolling, and plant growth.
He has been a GCSAA faculty member since 2011, and presented a highly-rated webcast titled "Managing Bentgrass under Summer Stress."
