Upon learning that he was to be the recipient of GCSAA’s 2008 Old Tom Morris Award — the association’s highest honor — Greg Norman said, “Sometimes, when you’re out of the world of sport… you feel like… you’ve been forgotten.”

It would be hard to forget this champion golfer, golf course designer, wine impresario and chairman of the advisory council of GCSAA’s Environmental Institute for Golf. Also a must-read this month is Terry Ostmeyer’s rundown of the first results from GCSAA’s groundbreaking Golf Course Environmental Profile concerning golf course land-use characteristics and environmental stewardship.
