Questions about the cost and availability of the energy that powers the golf course management industry is an issue that, like it or not, superintendents will need to address at their own facilities in the very near future.

In this issue of GCM, senior staff writer Terry Ostmeyer continues a series on alternative energy sources and their applications in golf course maintenance, this month focusing on wind and solar power, their considerable costs and equally considerable benefits, and how some superintendents are using those outlets to power their operations.

We also take a look back at the GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show.

This month’s cover design was created by senior art/production manager Roger Billings.
