Most superintendents have few problems deciding what’s right for their golf course. Doing the same thing in their personal lives, however, can be a different matter. In this issue of GCM, Senior Associate Editor Seth Jones talks with four superintendents who have made significant positive changes in their personal lives, from losing more than 150 pounds to kicking drinking or smokeless tobacco use. Also, we offer up tips on convincing the powers-that-be at your facility to OK important on-course projects. This month’s cover photo by Cincinnati-based photographer Meggan Booker features Teron Bay, CGCS at the Willows at Kenton County in Independence, Ky., and a 12-year GCSAA member. |
