The PGA Tour’s quest to establish its Players Championship as golf’s fifth major took a significant step forward last year when the tournament’s host course, the TPC Sawgrass, was closed for a complete renovation. The new-and-improved Sawgrass officially debuts at this month’s Players, and in this issue of GCM, we delve into the work that was done on the golf course and the reasons behind the changes.
We also feature our annual Seed Update, which presents new turfgrass varieties available to superintendents this year.
