For superintendents, the desire to make the right environmental choices on their golf courses has never been lacking. The means to do those things, however, haven’t always kept pace with those desires. That’s why there is increasing excitement in golf over Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and why GCM’s senior staff writer Terry Ostmeyer profiles this emerging trend in this issue.

We also turn our attention to the latest offerings in work apparel and accessories with a roundup gathered by associate editor Darcy DeVictor.

This month’s cover photo features the fourth hole at Old Head Golf Links in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland, where three-year GCSAA member Paul O’Mahony is superintendent. Aidan Bradley (www.golfcoursephotography.com) is the man behind the camera.
