Cory Phillips wins 2015 Most Valuable Technician Award
Cory Phillips, equipment manager at Horseshoe Bend Country Club in Roswell, Ga., and the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Most Valuable Technician Award, presented by GCSAA and GCM in partnership with Foley United.
Drinkard earns all six certificates in Equipment Manager Certificate Program
Congratulations to Patrick Drinkard, equipment manager at Bear's Best Atlanta in Suwanee, Ga., for successfully completing the Equipment Managers Certificate Program. The one-year GCSAA member passed all six exams, demonstrating proficiency in the following areas: hydraulic troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, internal combustion engines, drivelines, sprayer troubleshooting and cutting units.
2015 Rounds 4 Research auction raises over $112,500 for turfgrass studies
The 2015 Rounds 4 Research online auction sold more than 670 rounds and yielded more than $112,500. The top bid was for a two-night stay and eight rounds of golf offered by Bandon Dunes Resort. The Carolinas GCSA raised more than $22,000 – the most of any of the 50 fundraising partners. The national campaign is supported by a $50,000 donation from The Toro Co.
