The annual chapter delegates meeting will be held
Oct. 10-11 at the Kansas City Airport Marriott
in Kansas City, Mo. Learn

2010 DSA nominations open Affiliated chapters are encouraged to
nominate qualified individuals for the GCSAA Col.
John Morley Distinguished Service Award, which
honors individuals who have made an outstanding
contribution to the advancement of the golf course
management profession. The contribution must be
significant in both substance and duration, and
may be regional in nature. Winner(s) will be recognized
at the 2010 GCSAA Education Conference and Golf
Industry Show in San Diego. Nominations may be
submitted
online or in hardcopy
by Aug. 21.
2009 Compensation
& Benefits Report now available
More than 4,000 superintendents took GCSAA’s
Compensation and Benefits Survey last winter,
and the results are now available at GCSAA.org.
The report offer insights into the latest
salary, benefits and operations trends,
making it a valuable tool for both negotiating
and hiring. Members who participated in
the survey may access a free online report,
or may order a paper copy for $15. Members
who did not participate may order online
access for $125, or online access and a

Committee participates in second
annual National Golf Day
GCSAA’s Government Relations Committee
joined the leaders of 11 of the U.S. golf
industry's most prominent allied associations
in Washington, D.C., May 13, as participants
in the second annual National Golf Day.
Committee members met with members of Congress
and their staffs to highlight and discuss
golf's very significant economic, environmental
and social contributions. Learn

TV casting call
Do you know someone who manages an
interesting golf course, has an innovative
operation or practice, or does something
unexpected off the course?
GCSAA TV is looking for members who do
a lot with a little, for superintendents
who have helped increase their facility’s
revenues or innovatively trimmed expenses,
and those who are making a difference in
their communities.
GCSAA TV crews are currently scheduled

The Eastern
Shore Association of GCS recently received a
grant through the GCSAA Outreach Grant Program. The chapter
used the funds to help get their message out to golfers in
their region.
The GCSA of New Jersey recently contributed
to the Get Golf Ready player development program. President
