Chapter Delegates Meeting agenda distributed
The delegates have received the agenda for the Chapter Delegates Meeting on Oct. 24 - 26. Chapter leaders are encouraged to talk to their delegates about the agenda and give members the opportunity for input on the discussion items. Candidates announced for 2009 GCSAA Board of Directors
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has announced the official slate of candidates for its 2009 elections. Voting members will elect three officers and three directors at the 2009 Annual Meeting, Friday, Feb. 6, held in conjunction with the 2009 GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show in New Orleans. The candidates are:
  • President – Mark D. Kuhns, CGCS (Baltusrol Golf Club – Springfield, NJ)
  • Vice-President – James R. Fitzroy, CGCS (Wollaston Recreational Facility/Presidents Golf Course – North Quincy, MA)
  • Secretary/Treasurer – Sanford G. Queen, CGCS (City of Overland Park – Overland Park, KS) and Robert M. Randquist, CGCS (Boca Rio Golf Club – Boca Raton, FL)
  • Directors (electing three) – Robert O. Farren, CGCS (Pinehurst Resort and Country Club – Pinehurst, NC); Peter J. Grass, CGCS (Hilands Golf Club – Billings, MT); Keith A. Ihms, CGCS (Country Club of Little Rock – Little Rock, AR); John J. O'Keefe, CGCS (Preakness Hills Country Club – Wayne, NJ); and Jay D. Stine III, CGCS (Brookhaven Country Club – McKinney, TX)

Applications for the 2008 GCSAA/Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards are now available to members at www.gcsaa.org. The awards are a great opportunity for your chapter members to be celebrated for their environmental work. Applications are available online.
