First Hand First Tee Experience
Misty Lewis
Misty Lewis is the superintendent at The First Tee of Fort Smith at Jack Stephens Youth Golf Academy in Arkansas.
The facility is located on 50 acres with 6 regulation holes along with a 3 - hole short course, a driving range and 2½ acre short game target area. The academy has an indoor training facility to use during inclement weather.
She worked with junior golf long before her involvement with the First Tee. At her previous job, she not only worked maintaining the course, but she also assisted her husband with golf instruction.
Creating a First Tee facility does not happen overnight, it takes lots of time and hard work. Misty believes it takes patience and understanding to get a facility started, but once its complete the rewards are never ending.
